What is the Founding Ops Society?

Great question. Like most of our day jobs, we’re embracing an early stage concept and figuring out how to bring it to life as we go. 

Why do we think that it should exist?

We are both the founding ops hires at our respective startups. We help our founders with the operational day-to-day of running a business as well as building the GTM motion of the company. If you read the last sentence and understood it to mean 'many Notion docs and FigJams that are archived 6 months later,' you're in the right place.

How did we get here?

Resend is one of Plain’s oldest and most valued customers, so the two of us have been working together for over a year. A few weeks ago, we started chatting about our jobs beyond our usual customer-vendor interactions and realized that there were a lot of parallels. Our DMs slowly started to look something like this. 

Much like our jobs, our questions touched on many different areas - finance, customer support, sales, product, and everything in between.

We realized how helpful it was to have a sounding board, especially when we were still the solo operators in our teams. So we're building a community for exactly that - to bring knowledge and resources to a collective that juggles countless different tasks.

You can expect a weekly email from us tackling a topic that we believe will be deeply relevant to your day-to-day life as a founding-stage operator. And we expect to learn as much from you as you hopefully do from us.
